Kakashi

You know, I think I've drawn ONE Kakashi picture since I became a Naruto fan some years ago and it never hit the net, so you can imagine when I revisited the fandom and started rewatching everything (as I draw, I have to have background noise when I work so i do NOT favor subtitles) up to what I've missed (which is A LOT) and regained my love for (unfortunately very fictional) character, Kakashi and the fact I hardly drew him!

Another thing I recall about Naruto (and a bunch of other animes and cartoons I grew up watching), maybe it's because I'm not as stereotypical as other people, but I never stereotyped my shows or the characters really. Like everyone calls Sasuke "emo-boy", um, I thought it was in his nature to be cold and "all mighty", I mean, his entire family was slaughtered by his brother and I think I would be a really depressed person if that happened to me. Sakura is "annoying" and "clingy", has anyone honestly MET a 12-year-old girl? I mean, seriously, I was a brat (although I wasn't boy crazy) and EVERYONE is annoying as a kid, even when they grow up! And Naruto says "believe it" a lot...this doesn't irk me because I catch myself saying the same phrase (a different phrase) all the time, i heard it had to do with the translation folk who put it from Japanese to English, whatever.

I suppose people "connect" to stereotypes so they label people in animes/cartoons/movies/etc, then they go and put a "Don't Label Me" stamp on their page and what not. Dubs don't annoy me, their fans do, but I suppose that's the case with all fandoms.

But anyway, here's some Kakashi I referenced (heavily) from Tumblr images, he has a surprisingly simple character design. I have a lot of work to do and pumped him out for watercolor/marker practice. I'm absolutely loving the original! This is the first time I've been fully satisfied with a traditional result (I'm thinking i'm getting a solid process going here).

Does anyone else think that Kakashi would be like the perfect date or friend to bring to a con? I mean seriously think about it, give him some juicy manga and introduce him to the erotic side of the MLP fandom and you'll get someone tagging along with you who isn't like "I can't believe this fandom has such a following!"
